Gratitude Day 152: Creative Collaboration I may have written about something similar but the spirit moves me to write about this today. Collaboration is such a necessary tool and experience in our lives. We literally would struggle to survive without it and that is just human collaboration without nature’s collaboration in our lives we would surely perish. Open your mind up to how collaboration works in our lives. Everything around you is the result of some type of collaboration no man or woman is an island. Everything that surrounds you has been brought to you by working with others even if you are fiercely independent collaboration of one kind or another has brought you everything you have. How you collaborate with others will often determine your success or failure in business, art, life and love. Working together requires the ability to give and take to change and shift with others while at the same time adhering to the morals and principles that you hold close. A film is a perfect example of creative collaboration. An overall group of people sub divided into groups of individuals that are all related by the film and the success of the film. All of these groups even though they are related to the creative ensemble are often not directly related to each other. Even though the groups might not interact with each other how each group performs and contributes to the success of the whole does come into play. In a film there are many departments and groups that do interact and how that interaction takes place plays a key role in making sure that every aspect of the film flows smoothly leading to the ultimate success of the project. Of course every technical and production aspect of the film can go well but if the creative part of the film is not compelling and well received then the film may not be successful. I am so pleased and grateful to be working on WILDFLOWER a film that embraces the spirit of creative collaboration. Watching all of the departments working separately but also in synchronicity with each other behind the camera. Collaborating with the cast of bold and talented Actors who each bring their own style, process and artistic integrity to their roles in the story that unfolds has been a joy to be a part of. Our Director and his team have kept us moving forward with vision, purpose and an openness for new ideas and artistic evolution even while we are shooting. I am happy and proud to be watching the process evolve and being part of the creative ensemble. Enjoying the process unfolding and looking for what the future of WILDFLOWER will be. with Lisa Campbell McCorkle
