Great Gatsby: C+ Baz Luhrmann either dumbs the story down so stupid people will like it, or completely misses the point. Special effects drew away from the story, made me lose track of what was going on. Didnt mind the music as much as I thought I would. I felt like I was watching a play with elaborate backdrops instead of a movie. On a positive note, casting was basically perfect. Which kind of makes me angrier because it could have/ should have been so good. With that: stop making this book into a movie. Read the book. It is always better.
