Great Spark. Love David Just finding your Foundation existed has been so insiring to me and given me new hope in the strangers all around me. My background: I am a single mother of 5, caught in a terribly abusive marriage for 14 years-which I only escaped after a failed suicide attempt, divorced for 4 years in a great relationship now. My trials have been many. I often encounter struggling people in the poor area I live and work in and my heartstrings are frequently tugged- children, elderly, vets and young mothers are my softest spots. I have given rides to strangers in the rain, cash to crying young women in the grocery store, bought food for homeless etc sometimes its even takes a little time or money away from something I intended for my own family. But I know what it feels like when just one small act of kindness changes everything. I love to give, I dont have much but the more grateful I am and the more I give without expectation it seems the more I receive. By receive I mean things like this....Somehow when my car breaks down and I need a mechanic I can trust and afford out of nowhere I meet one through a common friend and he has time to immediately help me out. That is a huge blessing in my world. I work in a government office and I frequently get questions that I cannot answer especially from elderly. I sit in front of a computer so I use my knowledge of the internet and how many branches of government work and my professional connections to help them find the help they need. This isnt in my job description but I feel like there is a reason they came to me so I smile the whole time and give them my direct number if they need anymore help. I never want to be the reason someone feels uncared for or that they are less than any other human being. I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to create the organization to help promote and encourage more sparks
