Regarding the effects of long-term, some actions needed to incorporate a permanent continuity of the legacy of the mega sports event, were identified which means a challenge that involves little more than maintain the sporting arenas, but also incorporate sports resources in the framework of a global strategic vision of long-term management of the territory. These were the main results found in this study: The World Games attracted to the different scenarios as spectators 2174 international tourists, 11.250 domestic tourists, in addition to 90.249 residents of Cali and its Metropolitan Area. A foreign tourist was on average 4.8 days in the city, attended 4.4 competitions and spent $1.805.237, that dinamizaron sectors such as catering, transport and local commerce. Furthermore, a national tourist had an average of 4.1 days stay, attended 4 competitions, and spent $696.242 pesos. Local residents attended 4.3 competitions with an expenditure of $211.099 for 4.5 days. The investment to ensure sporting infrastructure, the Organization and logistics of the World Games amounted to $106.412 million, represented by the contributions of the national Government – Coldeportes-, - Mayor of Santiago de Cali - local government and the State Government - interior of the Valle del Cauca –. Moreover, viewers spending amounted to $30.808 million. In total, the mobilization of resources around the World Games was $137.220 million. Of this total, $101.313 million meant a new flow of income derived from agents outside of Cali and A.M. [national Government; foreign and national tourists] that dinamizaron local economic activity, and that not having made the World Games not had come to the city. The injection of $101.313 million generated a cumulative total impact of $571.099 million on the economy of the city of Cali and the metropolitan area and created 9619 jobs equivalent to 7728 full-time jobs. $571.099 Million in additional economic activity are the result set of the dynamics in the production of various sectors, since the momentum of the initial demand sources supplies throughout the local economy via inter-sectoral linkages and consumer. 9619 Jobs generated [7728 jobs full time equivalents primarily benefited sectors linked with the organisation of the games logistics and the tourists spending turbine.
