Great article on the effects of working in an animal shelter. I can definitely attest to it all being true. Before people judge animal shelter employees, consider what they go through on a daily basis. The emotional toll is very difficult and makes it hard to last very long there. Im thankful for the time I spent as a shelter worker, because I feel that I did make a difference...but I know without a doubt I would never go back into that field. Im glad I can still fulfill my joy of working with animals and in a less stressful setting. Thankful to have a job that allows for a more normal life and also where I am more appreciated.
