Great news at GLTECH. Level 1 again for MCAS. Great work by the teachers, staff, Parents (I believe more parent involvement is helping to also raise our scores), and students. We still have room to improve. The MA DESE released MCAS and Accountability Ratings for schools last Friday. I am very happy and proud to share the following results with you: • Level I status for the 2nd year in a row (only 19% of districts and 26% of schools in MA achieved Level I status) • High School Percentile Rank improved to the 30th percentile from 22nd last year and 16th the year before, an increase of 14 points over two years. • Exceeding 7 out of 8 PPI subgroup targets and missed one by only 5 points. • 92.3% graduation rate which is 7.3 points higher than the state average of 85%. • 86.5% graduation rate for learning disabled (SPED) students which is 18.7% higher than the state average of 67.8%. • 0.7% dropout rate which is more than 3 times lower than the state average of 2.2%. • 0.7% retention rate which is more than 2 times lower than the state average of 1.8%.
