Great news for Easthampton. Easthampton native, EHS Class of 65er Tom Lux will be reading at the White Square bookstore on Cottage Street on Sunday July 20 at 2 p.m. A world class poet, who has been called by the Poet Laureate of South Carolina This countrys greatest living poet, Tom is a professor at Georgia Tech. He holds The Bourne Chair in Poetry there. A Guggenheim Fellow and winner of the prestigious Kingsley Tufts Award for Best Book of Poetry of The Year, Tom has been Writer In Residence at Emerson College in Boston and was the head of the writing program at Sarah Lawrence College before accepting his current academic position in Atlanta. Tom is the author of many books of poetry. His latest work is Child Made of Sand, which was published last year. He also had a collection of essays; From The Southland, published in 2013.
