Great news in Ebola in Liberia- just five confirmed cases currently reported in the country. In Serra Leone- Freetown is currently MSFs busiest, with 30 patients as of January 24. Only 50 known cases now in 4 West African countries. Stopping transmission is particularly difficult in the overcrowded slum areas of Freetown. Many contacts are being forcibly quarantined in their homes, experiencing shortages of food or water. These quarantine measures can discourage families from seeking early treatment for their sick relatives for fear of being locked in their homes.
