Great to see the article that Tom Harrison wrote on me for the Province. He did such a good job as he always does--a real high level music journalist. The article was interesting for me to read as I didnt really expect to see anything about my CPAP experience in a music article. It actually is an interesting way for it to start as it draws attention to real life issues that can really effect working musicians without medical coverage. In my case I was very fortunate to have family and friends there for me in a crunch. To clarify--the money came from my brother Gerry,3 friends/fans of the BobCats--Maureen,Patricia and Eric and and an old guitar student--Craig Carter.It was in fact 3 years ago that I was able to get treatment for my extreme sleep apnea (100 an hour in the UBC overnight sleep study) which had contributed greatly to my major weight gain. With the nightly CPAP usage and major changes in eating choices and physical activity I have been able to lose significant weight and regain a level of physical health I havent experienced in years. This is due to the kindness and generosity of these people. I greatly appreciated the references Tom made of some of the great musicians I have had the great good fortune to have played with over the years.
