Great way yo start my Wednesday morning. recieve a phone call from an unknown number asking for Alvin. I respond with,Who? They correct themselves to Amanda. I tell them No, she is at work! They continue with this is Officer Jay from the IRS, we are showing you have underpaid by x.xx and with fins you owe use $80,000. Can i get I get her Cell phone number. No, she is not allowed to answer her cell phone at work. Well if you do not give us her cell phone number we will send the police to her work and have her arrested and thron in jail. This raised some red flags at this point. After a few minutes of back and forth I asked for their supervisor. The Agent tried to end the call at this point. I wanted to hold them on the line a little, so I asked for their contact info. I was given a name, 6 digit badge number, and a phone number. After which I told the Fake Agent ,please hold While I google your phone number to verify it is an IRS number. That was immediatly followed by the phone being hung up from there end. Why cant people try to scam me in person?
