Great weekend at Hastings on the weekend for us. I wasnt feeling all that confident in the lead up as ive only raced Hastings once and went the wrong way and ended up in 6th. We got the rotation sorted early with Louise on top of the calls and we started working on finding some lines. The track produced long arcs with the only straight off the start chute, so there was lots of options....the biggest problem for us was trying to get through the hairpin. I messed it up in the top 8 and it dropped us down to 4th so we knew we had to nail it in the final to have a chance against Sam. Aaron, Nathan, and Bradley sorted a nice change early in the peace and it paid off once again. Brian kept the engine safe and didnt push the tune up too hard and it was still a bloody rocketship! Sam beat us into the final by .008 so we knew we had a chance if we could keep it together. I didnt get the hairpin right and i got out of the throttle miles before i probably should have, but thanks to the Performance Autos boys work in the last few rounds and the Glassprotech White Pointer Stinger, we still got the win. It was the best battle on the time sheets ive seen before and would have liked to watch it from the bank, Sam and Glen were on it and im not sure of the times yet but i think it was a 49.29 to us and Sam with a 49.35 for second. Very cool racing! Night round next in Wangas......gonna be a big night!!!!
