Nicola Simpson from Hamilton District Foodbank kindly wrote to us to thank us for our food donations from our Harvest Thanksgiving Service. Yesterday, Sunday 20th October 2013, they held a meeting in High Blantyre Baptist Church for finding out more information about the Foodbank, what progress they have made, what still needs to be done and if you would be interested in the many volunteering opportunities. If interested, the volunteer training will be held in High Blantyre Baptist Church on Monday 4th November 2013 at 6.30pm. The Nazarene Hall behind Blantyre St Andrews Parish Church will be opening shortly, in Winter 2013, as the Blantyre branch of the Foodbank. From their facebook page: Hamilton District Foodbank is not yet operational. We are working very hard to get up and running in the community as soon as possible, and aim to launch before the end of the year.
