Great win for Buckswood U15s first win of the season against Cranbrook B Team Cranbrook 12 Buckswood 42 Travelling with a squad of 15 players we travelled to Cranbrook for a tough fixture. With a small but spirited warm-up the boys took to the field looking for a performance to be proud of. With Buckswood kicking off, the pressure was straight on the away side playing against the wind. After 10 minutes a lovely turn over ball at the ruck from Dymtro Chyzh enabled Steven Sharko to race away down the wing to setup a ruck for Thomas Castillo to score in the corner. With the belief running through the team that we can score tries, the rest of the half was free-flowing rugby where the ball got passed around and more tried from Thomas Castille x3, big powerful Rory Goodger and giant Toby Laing also crossing the line. With the game won, Cranbrook came back asking questions of the Buckswood defence and it was great to see the confidence of Campbell Marlow Eastwood to hit rucks hard & competitive at the scrums. With the game coming to an end there was a little of the ball moment where Campbell got picked up illegally only for his teammate behind to tell the Cranbrook player: You better watch yourself! You cant buy teamwork like that: you have to earn it and its great at Buckswood that we have that spirit. Final score 42-12 to Buckswood: great performance from the boys and I look forward to the next fixture on Saturday.
