GreatStaff Solutions is currently looking for a Sputter Operator – 2nd Shift for our client in Ann Arbor. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, this person will be responsible for running the sputter machines to deposit thin film resistors and end wraps on ceramic to manufacture resistor chips used in clients finished goods or sold for customer use. This position also performs the heat treat operations for this product line. Specific Tasks: • Uses Sputter machine to deposit thin film resistors on prepared ceramic substrates as described in SOP’s • Reads, Interprets and verifies accuracy of SOP’s related to Sputter process. • Verifies that completed product meets documented specifications using ohm meter • Follows standard troubleshooting techniques to adjust for bad runs • Records results of sputter runs for historical analysis to predict future runs • Maintains clean, organized Sputter area • Performs Preventive Maintenance on Sputter machines and related equipment as scheduled • Schedules work orders by due date, but may batch work orders when possible to run sputter department more efficiently • Prepares orders for heat treat; performs heat treat operation • Moves work orders in computer data base to next location • Other duties and/or projects as assigned Knowledge and skills required: • Read and follow SOP and other work order documents • Basic computer skills for accessing programs and entering data • Solid math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) • Capable of using hand tools • Education requirements: High School diploma or GED Physical Requirements: • Vision enabling proper use of microscope • Fine manual dexterity to manipulate small parts and tools • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. to a 5-foot height • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
