Greetings. Just a quick followup to my email to members earlier this week. We now have details concerning the MonSFFA Christmas Dinner/party. MonSFFA’S 2014 CHRISTMAS DINNER/PARTY Saturday, December 6, 2014, 6:00PM IRISH EMBASSY PUB AND GRILL 1234 rue Bishop We are returning to the Irish Embassy Pub and Grill this year to celebrate the Christmas season over dinner and drinks. APPETIZER Our choice between: Embassy House Salad or Embassy Soup of the Day MAIN COURSE We have been presented with 6 options and via group democracy to be decided at this Sunday’s MonSFFA meeting we MUST whittle the 6 down to a choice of 3 main choices (any ties will be broken by the decree of the president). The 4th option will be the Vegetarian Curry. Prime Rib Au Jus 8oz Prime Rib cut, lightly spiced and slow roasted, served with home-style mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. or Roasted Quebec Pork Loin Oven roasted pork loin, served with rosemary roasted potatoes, root vegetables and apple cider sauce. or Kamouraska Lamb Gigot Au Jus Roasted lamb leg drizzled with jus, sliced and served with cauliflower puree and honey-roasted parsnips. or Roasted Whole Trout Roasted whole trout, topped with a caper butter sauce and served with basmati rice and fresh market vegetables. or Roasted Quail “au jus” Roasted and stuffed quail served with parsnip purée and Brussels sprouts. or Beef cheeks Milanaise Braised beef cheeks in beef stock, lemon zest, onions, diced tomatoes and carrots. Served with mashed potatoes and gravy. ************************** Vegetarian Curry Market vegetables and tofu in a mild tomato-based curry sauce and served on a bed of basmati rice. *note that the vegetarian option is offered at a reduced price of $20. Every menu will include the Vegetarian curry as a fourth option. DESSERT Double Chocolate Brownie (Contains chopped nuts) or Homemade Apple Cake (Served with vanilla ice cream) A final tally for the 3 Main Course choices will be made at this Sunday’s MonSFFA Meeting. You may also email your vote to the president of the club. Your vote must be registered by 9:00pm, November 26, 2014. The cost of the meal has been set at $25, plus taxes and a 17-percent gratuity — that comes to roughly $33-35. Drinks are extra. Please note that the Irish Embassy does not accept debit cards; payment by cash or credit card only. Please understand that seating capacity is limited to 24 and it is therefore important to confirm your attendance with Bernard via e-mail before November 26, 2014. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee seating with the group to any late-comers. SPECIAL NOTE: As this is a legal-age drinking establishment, minors will not be allowed to enter the pub for the Christmas dinner. Our apologies, but this is Irish Embassy policy.
