Greetings all, For our Wednesday meeting at 1pm this week we will be again meeting in Joe Napolitano B, in Union House. After our meeting we will be going on to the Prince Alfreds Hotel on Grattan Street at 2pm for food, drink and more discussion. This weeks topics will be: The ethics of killing animals. There are some who consider the killing of animals to be murder and those who believe it to be doing no wrong. Hypothetically, if animal meet was able to be clinically grown and the taste, price and nutrition was unaffected would it then be wrong to eat non clinical meat? And should there be laws to support that conclusion? Does the wrongness of eating meat depend on the animal, how the animal was raised and how it was killed? Eugenics Eugenics is the belief and practise of improving the genetic quality of the human population. Opinions of eugenics often are strong on both sides with some believing it to be inherently evil, while others thinking it to be a clear first step. Equality and vs numerical benefit Is an equally distributed share of the pie better or worse that a smaller proportion of a much larger pie? Does having super rich, and having those people invest their money benefit everyone or only the super rich? If you have something you would like to see discussed leave it as a comment to this post. -- Jarod Haegel President of the Political Interest Society
