Greetings everyone & a happy Thanksgiving to you all. Just wanted - TopicsExpress

Greetings everyone & a happy Thanksgiving to you all. Just wanted to remind everyone of a few safety tips for the Thanksgiving holiday & this weekend’s shopping activities. First remember for all you turkey fryers out there to insure your turkey is completely thawed before frying and insure that the fryer is a safe distance from your home, cars & anything else that may burn. Second while shopping remember patience. There will be a bunch of rude pushy people out. Try to give yourself plenty of space from these people and try to not let these people ruin your shopping fun. Don’t shop alone, shop with friends or family, there is safety in numbers, plus it keeps you from going to your car with your arms full which makes you an easy target for a snatch and grab theft. Third don’t make yourself a target. Keep valuables locked in your trunk or under a blanket in the back of your SUV. Don’t text or talk on your cell while walking thru parking lots. This makes you a target for criminals & is very dangerous for drivers who are paying more attention to their own phones or close parking spaces. Be aware of your surroundings at all times and if you see something that doesn’t look right or is alarming to you, report it, DO NOT HESITATE TO DAIL 911. Finally if you are going to have a few drinks with family and friends over the holidays have a designated driver. Also remember that not everyone will be as responsabile as you so try to limit your travels later in the evening. The admin section of the police department will be closed at noon today (Wednesday) till Monday at 8:00am. This also includes the Monroe Municipal Court. Law Enforcement services will still be operational at full capacity. Have a wonderful thanksgiving, Monroe Police Department
