Greetings fellow Bboys/Girls! This is your lovely President giving you a mid summer update about next years ULU Breakdance society operations. As mentioned in my AGM speech, I promised to get more open sessions this upcoming year. Fortunately, this has been confirmed and we have been allocated TWO weekly OPEN sessions per week. These weekly sessions will be held every TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY starting on September 23rd (no session on September 24th unfortunately). Furthermore, these sessions will last from 18:00-22:00 (hurray for 4 hour sessions if the session times werent long enough last year). If you want a comprehensive timetable of confirmed term 1 times and locations, I have attached a document detailing these information in this following post. Another big announcement will be regarding how breaking classes/workshops will be run this upcoming year. BEGINNER lessons will be taught by committee members (i.e Vinny Nguyen, Alexander Chu, Chris Foo, etc.). These beginner classes will be one hour long with a small fee of about £2-£3 (difinitive price is to be confirmed soon) to generate a weekly revenue for the societys funds. On the other hand, intermediate to advanced lessons will be taught by Abdul on Thursday from 20:00-22:00 on a BIWEEKLY basis. This is being worked out as I talk to him about our next year lesson plans. Again, we encourage you all to come to his classes if you are intermediate/advanced breaker as we are fortunate to have his expertise here at ULU. We will have special events throughout the year such as ULU trip to Paris for the Red Bull BC1 2014, the annual big university championships held in Newcastle, possible University of London Bboy Jam, possible cooperation events (such as friendly battles and workshops) with Breakin KCL, etc. These will be confirmed further by our Event Planner, Media and, Marketing officers Nick Pogorelenko Kay Mo More information will be given out as the academic year approaches but in the mean time, please invite and introduce ULU Breakdance to your university friends! It doesnt matter if they have no experience in breaking or if they are Bboy Hong10 and Lil Zoo. We are looking forward to having another fantastic year at ULU Break and are happy to welcome everyone back (new and old members)!
