Greetings from Nashville! I sent this message to every NDU local president this morning asking that they forward it to all our teacher and esp members in their locals. Thank you to those of you who contacted me today about American Education Week. I hope my message below adequately expresses my deep appreciation for the important work you do so well. Dear Teachers and Education Support Professionals, As we begin this American Education Week, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your work to ensure that the children and young people of North Dakota receive the very best education possible. Make no mistake about it. What you do everyday fulfills the promise that we make to our future. Your work makes it possible for thousands of North Dakotans to fulfill their dreams and to make our communities, state and nation better places in which to live and work. Teachers and education support professionals provide the foundation upon which this nations future is built. I know that you do not seek awards or constant recognition for the excellent work you do. In part because you are too darn busy to do so. Today, though, I want you to take some time to celebrate what you and your colleagues do to improve the lives and shape the future for so many. Thank you for your membership in North Dakota United and thank you for the fabulous work you do everyday. Have a terrific week and a blessed Thanksgiving Day holiday break. Nick
