Greetings from the Channel islands harbor in Oxnard, CA. We are back in civilization after spending three miserable days in Santa Rosa island, which we now call "disappointment" island. The first day we tried landing our dinghy on the beach and get got dumped in the surf. The rest of the days we spend on the boat while it was gusting up to 30+ knots. Our anchor was well set but we could not get off the boat and explore the island. Not that there was much to see, the whole thing is an arid dessert rock. We finally made our escape from there and came back to the mainland. The Channel islands harbor is beautiful. We got us a reciprocal slip at the Corinthian yacht club. Our buddy boat, SV Dawn Treader, is still with us. We are heading out tomorrow for Santa Monica.
