Greetings magnificent fans of DCs Greatest finally got to sit down for a bit last night and check out the latest episode of Gotham and all I have to say is WOW! Last week was probably the weakest episode of the season but they followed it up with what could be the best. MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW What I loved...... Robin Lord Taylors portrayal of the Penguin before this show ends could become the greatest live action portrayal of a comic book villain weve ever seen. Hes that good and he already might be the best comic book villain weve seen on television. Hes definitely the best Ive seen since Michael Rosenbaums Lex Luthor on Smallville. The show was entitled The Penguins Umbrella, and Taylor shined once again giving us a fantastic performance. Even though his role was short Sean Pertwee was great. The scene where its revealed he could have easily taken down Crispus Allen was entertaining and we got a glimpse of how this Alfred is more than he seems. This might have been Ben McKenzies best episode yet and Donal Logue as Bullock continues to entertain as he started to make a small transition from dirty, crooked cop to one with ah just some slightly questionable ethics. HOLY COW that ending! Seeing Penguin pulling the strings to get his way is truly fun to watch. LIKED BUT DIDNT LOVE The guy playing Zsasz was good, but Im not a big fan of Victor being a mob enforcer, however it was good to see a live action version of one of my favorite Batman villains. WHAT NEEDS WORK Barbara Kean might be on the stupidest characters on television and while I understand they had to do something to get Gordon out of attack mode the old You think you have nothing to lose but you do to quell the heros momentum is very cliche. While I enjoyed seeing Alfred show a bit of what hes capable of the scene at Wayne Manor felt a bit forced and probably wasnt really necessary. EASTER EGG! Yes that was Dr. Leslie Thompkins who removed the bullets from Gordon. I hope they expand further on her in the future. Again I think this was the best episode of Gotham yet and hopefully they can ride the momentum of this week and keep it going. This is a fantastic show getting decent ratings and if you havent seen it yet. Start watching it now! What did you think of this weeks Gotham? Wildcat
