In addition to many other events of great importance, it was on this holy day that Allah Almighty saved Moses and his people from the Pharoah, that Abraham was saved from the blazing fire of Nimrod set to extinguish the light of prophecy, and that Adam was saved from the Great Flood. And it was on this holy day that Hussayn (as) and 72 members of the family of the Prophet (saws) made the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of the Community.
