Greetings to the Populace from your new Kingdom Chatelaine! I have been considering what I could do for our most awesome Kingdom. The subject of recruitment has come up. One possible, and tried and true method is the ancient (and period) right of going out, finding an unsuspecting person, bashing them over the head, and dragging them (sometimes kicking and screaming) to a meeting. Though I, might, have used this method, it has several drawbacks. It is slow, as the hunting does eat into your spare time; and the newbies tend to run away after we let go of their hair. Thus a new idea. Okay, its not that new, so lets call it a twist: Bumper stickers! I have designed a few bumper stickers that we, the populace of Northshield, would put onto our own vehicles. Where we, the populace of Northshield, would then drive around like normal. On said stickers would be a statement that, with luck, pique the interest of a percentage of our fellow drivers. On said stickers would be the kingdom website where they could then go check us out at their convenience. The designs I have worked up so far are as follows. At the top of the would say In my spare time I... or On weekends I... Then be the variable statement that hopefully represented one of your passions in the SCA e.g. Wear medieval clothes and have fun! Put on full plate armor and sword fight! Have medieval feasts with my friends! Explore the past and recreate it in the present! Do medieval period metal work and black smithing! At the end would be, possibly, if it fits What do you do? Which trends well with the whats in your wallet? , but Im of two minds on that. And most importantly, out website northshield.org. Here are my questions to you: Would you be willing to put this or similar on your car? Would you be willing to shell out the 4 or 5 bucks for one? Do you have suggestions, that are printable, to put in the middle section? Do you think your group is ready for the influx of people coming to check you out?
