Juneau, guitar playing, skateboarding fringie. Fringies were just prior to hippies 1965. The first time I saw him, he was skateboarding, standing on his hands on the board, going down the centerline on University Ave in Seattle by the Eigerwand Coffee House. It was love at first sight. He was the first person I met who ate granola. He died in an avalanche on the top of Mt. Juneau in Jan. 1971....10 feet from the summit. They didnt find his body until the next Spring. A fisherman in a boat saw a lot of Eagles and a bear on shore gathering, hungry. Waiting for a thaw in the ice. There was an article in the Juneau paper that showed an image of how they thought his body had traveled from the top of the mountain to the shore.
