[GregsFineWine] Tasting Announcement I am really excited about this tasting. On Saturday, May 24 from 1pm-5pm we will be exploring the incredible Italian importing portfolio of Banville. Banville represents some of the greatest names in all of Italy and we will be showcasing over 20 of these wines. From the Alto Adige to Piedmont, from Tuscany to the Veneto and more, we will be taking an exhaustive trip through Italys many regions by tasting some of the countrys best wines. We will be offering big discounts on the tasting wines on the 24th as well (always a nice bonus!). As a preview to this tasting, over the next three weeks we will include a few wines from the Banville portfolio on our regular instore tasting tables (Fridays 4pm-8pm and Saturdays 12pm-8pm). Up this week (April 25 & 26): -Terlano Pinot Bianco (easily one of the best PBs that Ive ever tasted.. fresh, minerally, and concentrated) -Scavino Sorriso (a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, you get SBs aromatic, grassy side mixed with some of the weightier aspects of Chardonnay) -Scavino Nebbiolo (forget about calling this a mini-Barolo, this is as good as many producers Barolos!) -Villa Medoro Montepulicano dAbruzzo (this is a fantastic Montepulciano!.. red and black fruits mixed with earthy notes, its no wonder that this recently received the Tre Bicchieri, the top rating from Italys leading wine guide, Gambero Rosso) Well change up some of these preview wines over the next few weeks (May 2 & 3 and May 9 & 10), so its definitely worth coming down and checking these out, as they will be included in our big May 24th tasting and thats the day that well be offering the discounts (thus, you can taste some of the wines beforehand, make a note of your favorites, and buy a bunch of them on the 24th... though were not showing nearly our whole hand in these preview tastings, so youll have to be here on the 24th to taste everything!).
