Grieved by Deaths of Kashmiri Youth: Sajad Lone Srinagar, July 15: Peoples’ Conference Chairman Sajad Lone has expressed grief at the deaths of two Kashmiri youth who were, in separate instances, found dead in mysterious circumstances in Mumbai and Rajasthan. Terming these tragedies as inconsolable and heart rending, Sajad Lone has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of Pervez Ahmed Teli of Nawab Bazar, Srinagar and Abid Ahmed Ganai of Larsun, Ganderbal. Stating that there is a palpable and justified perception in Kashmir of foul play, Sajad Lone said that it was the State Government’s and the Ruling Alliance’s inescapable responsibility to thoroughly probe these deaths and seek elaborate case details from the local police and investigative agencies in Mumbai and Rajasthan. There is an added responsibility of the Congress leaders in J&K to use their direct and indirect clout to ensure justice is done in both these cases since both Rajasthan and Maharashtra have Congress-led governments. Rather than addressing self-marketing workers’ conventions and focusing singularly on 2014 polls, the Congress leaders in J&K should liaise with their counterparts in Rajasthan and Maharashtra to probe these cases. Unfortunately, it seems all that everyone, including the leaders of the ruling alliance are concerned about is issuing press statements of condolence and nothing further.
