Grinnell College organist Linda Bryant will present a concert called "Baroque to Ragtime" at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, in Herrick Chapel at Grinnell College. The event is open to the public at no charge. Herrick Chapel is located at the intersection of 7th and Park Streets in Grinnell. The program will consist of music by Baroque composers J. S. Bach and Dietrich Buxtehude, a sonata by Felix Mendelssohn, pieces by 20th-century American composers Frank Bridge and William Albright, and music by living English composer Andrew Carter. Bryant will play the 59 rank 1949 Aeolian-Skinner organ, which was completely restored, rededicated and placed on the Organ Historical Society Register of Historic Instruments in 2009. A resident of Newton, Iowa, Bryant has been the organist at Grinnell College since 2001. Bryant is a graduate of Drake University and Valparaiso University, and she holds the Colleague Certificate from the American Guild of Organists.
