Group Member Lena Walker posted this below, but I think it deserves its own post: Dear Students: Going to class is a crucial part of doing well in school, but if you only pencil in taking action around your busy schedule, nothing will ever get done. Your participation in whats happening at your school is a crucial part of building a worthwhile institution! Tell your professor you need ten minutes to go and sign a petition. Or, if you have to miss the whole class, let them know that they can thank the board of trustees who are so bad at doing their jobs (i.e.--holding faculty and staff accountable for their actions) the students have to take time off from study to do it for them. SERIOUSLY. Your professors are angry too. If you have to miss a class to make demands, do it! Your teachers will understand and you most likely wont die. As students we are in the best position to undertake social movements. Use that privilege. Get what you want.
