Had to deal with McKay Dee Behavioral Health today. What a joke. First the receptionist was so completely rude. I asked her to give a specific therapist a note and she wouldnt. She said she would put it in a new patient packet and hed get it then. Okay, when will that be? Her reply? A month! Oh, then can we set up more appointments now? Nope. So, after waiting a month for the first appointment, well have to wait another month? Yep, thats probably right but I dont know. We can put you in a waiting list. Wonderful. This is all too familiar. So this behavioral health professional organization thinks its okay to make an emotionally suffering person wait a month for the first appointment and then again another month for the second? Thats literally insane. Oh, but wed be happy to put you on medication and ignore you for 6 weeks. What part of this process is healing? So my next question to this lovely receptionist who is in charge of meeting mentally ill and emotionally strained people who struggled to even walk through the door is do you know of a group that we can get involved with to help? Her answer? Uh, no. I get asked that all the time. Shocker. Really!? No. Just no. And we wonder why Weber County has issues.
