Group input needed: Help please!!! Thanks Tina for being and creating a website where we can all meet and help each other out!!! You are my hero! I need MORE help if you can. You posted a link yesterday from me (thank you) about my ex taking me back to court in another state for a divorce thats been final for a year in the state we were married in and lived for 8 months prior to separation. Im having trouble finding an attorney in the other state thats not already busy on our court date, will do trial in that particular county, etc. I only have 14 days to respond with my financial info. Its probably going to go nowhere but I still have to respond (I think!). It looks like I may have to represent myself. Do you have any recommendation on how to do this? Do I call the courthouse and talk to them about what needs to be done? Do I call his lawyer and send HIM the criteria for our divorce and that it WAS the correct venue? Where do I start? Im so confused! Yesterday I got a letter from the court stating that the court has reviewed the matter and plaintiff is ordered to show proof of order vacating our divorce in the state we were divorced in and an amended parenting affidavit (he barely filled it out. Most of it was blank. At the bottom of the letter it said that court date is set for Sept. 2. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You may post for the other readers to read as well if youd like. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
