Grow Up II“Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, - TopicsExpress

Grow Up II“Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;” Galatians 4:1Yesterday, we started looking at the issue of maturity. The truth is that if you don’t want to grow up, you will serve the things you should master; things you should dominate will enslave you. The scripture above says you are an “heir” but because you don’t want to grow up, your immaturity will make you a slave. If you don’t grow to understand who you are, what you have and the power at your disposal, then you will remain a child. If you want to be spoon-fed, dressed and still weaned by others, then you are a child and you will remain in a perpetual bondage in the hands of the enemy. The same enemy you have been authorized and empowered to rule over will push you around.Do you know that Lot (Abraham’s nephew) was also a righteous person (2 Peter 2:7-8)? He was recorded as righteous because he did not support the evil in Sodom. However, he was always getting into trouble because he was always hanging around with people of the world. Lot wanted to belong to the “Joneses” he wanted to be numbered among the happening people but not Abraham. So there are two categories of Christians. There are those who are in church and yet of the world and there are those who of in the church and are not of the world. The question is where do you belong?Galatians 4:1 makes us to understand that even though there are blessings that belong to you, you can’t get it because you have refused to mature. To be matured as a Christian means to be tough to face the challenges of our day. I challenge you today to make up your mind to follow the path of growth and shoot for maturity. Apply the discipline and pay the price that guarantees balance and personal growth. I prophesy over you today that as you commit yourself to growth and maturity, you will take your place as a son and you will not be a slave. Your destiny will not be doomed. Your glorious light in Christ will shine continually and God will be revealed in you. I bless you today in Jesus Name.Further reading: 1 Corinthians 3: 1 - 15, 1 Peter 2:1-2Daily Bible Reading: Morning Job 8-10; Evening Acts 8:26-40
