Guess whos favorite color is blue? Ellen DeGeneres receives her 2014 edition of Shores of Neptune! I just wasnt sure this location was going to give me a photograph this beautiful - especially due to the weather at the time! By the time I hiked down to Enderts Beach, it started to rain and the wind kicked up bad - and I contemplated not going any further. But I do know how sometimes uncomfortable weather can make a great photograph, and I was right! Shores of Neptune was captured as a long 40 second exposure. The sun had already set and it was getting very dark. In fact, it was getting too dark even for long exposures, but at least the wind died down. I took advantage of the already shadowy blue scene by adding a cool lens filter to preserve the misty blue feel of the surrounding seascape.
