Gugga Navmi observed at Mathwar Sham pays obeisance at Baba Ballo Shrine JAMMU, AUGUST 29- To commemorate Gugga Navmi, the devotees of great spiritual saint and social reformer, Baba Ballo, organized a festival at his revered shrine in village Mathwar here on Thursday. Thousands of devotees of Baba Ji from different parts of Jammu region thronged the Shrine and paid obeisance with prayers for peace and prosperity of the state. Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma, also paid obeisance at the Shrine and participated in the special pooja organized by Mathwar Management committee of the shrine. He prayed for peace and tranquility in the state. Underlining commitment of the Government to increase pilgrim tourist influx in the State, Sham said that efforts are being launched to promote tourism potential and develop infrastructure in centuries old historical holy places of the State. He said that the state is famous for its ancient holy shrines like Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, Shri Amarnath Ji, Shri Shiv Kohri, Shri Budha Amarnath Ji, Shri Machail Mata Ji and various other religious destinations which are being thronged by people from across the country every year. He assured that the government will provide full cooperation for success of such religious events. The management of the shrine also organized bhandara for the devotees.
