#Guilty_Conscience. No sooner did the gentlemen stepped in interview room and locked eyes with the panelist than he came face to face with his ex-lover whom he dated, abused, and dumped like a used condom. His self confidence vanished in the thin air of guilt when the lead interviewer (his ex) looked him straight in the eye and intelligently crossed him on the apparent career gap in his curriculum vitae. The gap when he met the lady (interviewer), a brown-shy-slender-innocent girl who still had a narrow understanding of the words “tabia mbaya”, dumped her, met another one, dumped and another… Panelist (His Ex): Gentleman, could you kindly explain the apparent career gap in your C.V between the time you graduated from high school and the time you enrolled in college? I mean what productive work did you engage in before you enrolled in college? Interviewee: I was…er…um…well... (His guilty conscience and the sturdy eyes of his ex behind the light brown glasses would not permit the words to come out). It really dawned on him that indeed this world is not as flat as a football field; its round as a foot ball. Now if we travel long enough, we ain’t gonna go anywhere but trust me we gonna come back to where we began. It follows then that life is so unpredictable and the manifestation of God’s unmerited favor, honor, and love occurs in the most implausible and unlikely of circumstances and places. The person we hate today and dismiss as hopeless good for manure character might be the person who has the key to unlock our potential tomorrow besides being the bridge between our lofty dreams and aspirations and our reality tomorrow. Essentially, there are so many significant things to accomplish in this erratic and inconsistent journey of life, in this we may reason and argue according to our personal conviction; we may agree to disagree. But in the meantime, let us hold first the essentials by learning to agree to disagree without being disagreeable. In other words, we can walk shoulder to shoulder and even hold hands in public yet our philosophies about life is as different as black and white.
