Gul announces relief for Nawabazar fire victims Chairs Rules, House Committee meetings SRINAGAR, JULY 10: The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Mr. Mubarak Gul along with team of officers today visited Nawabazar in Eidgah constituency where two residential houses were damaged due to recent fire incident yesterday. The Speaker interacted with the affected families and enquired about the loss suffered by them. He assured the fire sufferers that every possible help would be provided to them. He announced Rs 25000 to each family as immediate assistance out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Mr. Gul directed the revenue authorities to assess the damages and furnish report to the concerned quarter so that necessary financial assistances would be sanctioned for the affected families. Earlier, the Speaker chaired a meeting a Rules Committee of State Legislative Assembly in his office chamber. The Committee members Mr. G. M. Saroori, Mr. A. R. Veeri and Syed Bashir Ahmad attended the meeting. Later, Mr. Gul also chaired House Committee meeting and discussed the facilities being provided to the legislators during their tour to outside State. Discussing the catering facilities available at MLA Hostel Jammu and Srinagar, the Speaker directed the Secretary Assembly, Mr. M Ramzan to ensure hygienic besides the quality food items in Hostel Canteens. It was decided in the meeting that the proposal for purchase of two vehicles would be submitted to the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister required at Resident Commission Office at New Delhi for the convenience of the visiting legislators of the State. The Committee attended by Mr. G. M. Saroori and Peerzada Mansoor Hussain decided that a separate waiting hall be kept for visiting legislators in the Assembly Complex, Srinagar. In this pursuit, Mr. Gul directed the Secretary Assembly to identify the room and maintain it properly with all facilities.
