Gus was chained in a back yard and deprived of the basic essentials such as daily food and water. His owners refused to surrender him until he collapsed and started having extremely bloody diarrhea. He was brought to my vet for treatment. Too weak to stand, he nearly died twice while trying to set his IV catheter. Gus has suffered long term abuse/neglect at the hands of his previous owners. His current condition is somewhat stable. He is extremely underweight at 30 Lbs, has muscle deterioration, he is anemic, loaded with hook, whip, and tape worms, he is also heartworm positive. Poor Gus has not known the comfort of a soft clean bed, good food, toys, or a loving hand.
