Guwaasti Hauba/Greetings Everyone, I want to wish the tribal - TopicsExpress

Guwaasti Hauba/Greetings Everyone, I want to wish the tribal communities of Taos, Picuris, Walatowa (Jemez), Khapoo Owinge (Santa Clara), Kewa (Santo Domingo), Tesuque, Ohkay Owingeh (San Juan), and Nambé continued support in their remembrance of the 1680 Pueblo Revolt today. I want to give homage to the over 40 tribal communities that were in existence at the time and who we have lost such as Pecos. I want to acknowledge the tribal communities that served and supported in their own capacities at the time such as the Apache, Dine (Navajo), Hopi, Zuni and Haaku (Acoma served as a place of refuge for tribes across NM during the aftermath of re-conquest as a result of the 1680 Pueblo Revolt). May our ancestral history serve as reminders of the abilities we are capable of, that EVERY day is a revolt against what continues to take away our understanding of sovereignty, our culture/language, our traditions, our practices, our beliefs, our way of life. Praying every day to the Ancestors with pollen is an act of revolt we can all do EVERY day. Let us be reminded when we look in the mirror that we are the accumulation of generations of our Ancestors who overcame genocide, kidnapping, enslavement, and oppression, suppression, physical wars, legal wars, and the like, and from the ones who continue to do this TODAY is why we are here. May you all have a blessed day, keep happiness and humbleness in your hearts. Blessings and Love.
