Guy Scott: a Threat to National Security? By Bwembya - TopicsExpress

Guy Scott: a Threat to National Security? By Bwembya Mutale Within 30 days we have seen more unilateral decisions, suspensions, counter suspensions, scheduled General Conference, and Parallel GC centers. As if not enough, leadership hiding away from followers willfully invited from across the country only to spend 2 days of singing at the rock then followed by a nullification of the GC verdict. Alas from the same humiliated masses you expect to receive their votes. Where to Zambia? The shoes of Sata have proved too big for Dr. Guy Scott. He can only offer confusion instead. His leadership has turned out to be Zambia’s biggest national security threat since the days of the Liberation struggles when we faced the wrath of Ian Smith and the Apartheid South African regime. Modern day Zambia has never seen a leader who soothes the kind of incorrigible hatred and complicity that aims at fueling intra-party divisions as seen in Scott’s short reign. The reckless unilateral decisions on orders of some non-asymmetrical forces since the death of President Michael Sata could plunge our peaceful country in turmoil. It’s no longer comical as we have known him to be, Scott has shifted into an immediate national threat. He presents a clear and present danger to our national security, peace and unity. If by now the PF leadership, grassroots members, the country’s Judiciary, Defense and Security has not picked up fillers on Scott’s intent, as a country we will have ourselves to blame. Is it worth it to sacrifice the country’s peace just to serve his agenda? How much does PF or the country owe him to condone these risky moves? The future and security of Zambia is in our hands. A blackmailed leader is a national security threat because his actions are always at adverse to whatever is of common good. He has taken sides with orders from hostile forces irrespective of popular resistance. The circus has footnotes of what some Belgium mercenaries did in triggering the Interahamwe wrath in Rwanda. Architects were easily evacuated with the masses left slaughtering each other. How are we missing some signs and motive in Scott’s behavior when his acts clearly reveal his inimical intents? In any democracy, party decisions are not centered on individuals making unilateral decision but consensus. Does it mean in PF Scott can wake up anytime and make any decree adverse or not? Leadership is built on people’s wishes without which leadership cannot see another day. Even to us the outsiders, it is very clear that Scott does not have a base in the PF and the masses have long decided. The best he could do if he loves Zambia is negotiate for his future. Besides, there is no guarantee that the mandate will be retained to PF. Alarmingly, what is clear though in some activities is sabotage PF or leave Zambia on fire only to say Lanarkshire jam factory here I come. I pray we don’t find our country in a crisis where people power claims its destination locking up Government buildings and vital installations until their wishes are respected. In summary, some us have started to see Guy Scott as a subject of national security threat whose acts could be too dangerous to protect. Security and Defense institutions belong to the people as such; they should serve the people and not individuals. May be PF should go into a self dissolution so we can have tripartite elections instead. Prevention is cheaper and better than cure. By and large, it reveals why President Sata over his dead body NEVER ever risked the country with him. zambiareports/2014/12/01/blackmailed-leadership-national-risk/
