Guys Im a paint and bodyman...not much of a mechanic. When I got this truck it had (still has) a new fuel tank, electric frame mounted in line fuel pump and a mechanical fuel pump block off. I was told this 302 came out of a Mustang. The fuel pump runs off the battery and is actuated by a toggle switch under dash. Fuel gauge is not close to being accurate so I ran out of gas coming down the hill to my house. I put five gallons of gas in it and it will not crank. Pump comes on...can hear it. Ive poured gas in carb...runs until its gone. Pulled fuel line off at carb...turned on pump...nothing. Would I be better off removing the block off plate and installing a mechanical pump?
