Guys re the whole Warriors stadium debate . Mt Smart must be upgraded to meet NRL standards... Its the same concept thats being applied to suburban grounds in Sydney. But, heres the issue.. Imagine the rate payer reaction if they were asked to spend another $70 million on a stadium upgrade.. Their would be hell to pay. So where does that leave us ? In short screwed.! The only long term solution I can see is the Warriors biting the bullet, finding some investment and doing deals when any third parties deals to get a 25,000 seat indoor stadium built down on the tank farm. Bulldoze Nth Harbour, and lets have one small stadium for the Blues, Warriors , Phoenix (when in town) and concerts etc.. Then Eden Park will look after the All Blacks.. The residents will be happy.. And we all get a decent purpose built sporting facility which will create supply and demand. We need to sort out the stadium issue once and for all.!
