H1N1 virus spreads tentacles in district n Health dept awakes from slumber n 2 more detected with swine flu The health department has woken up from its deep slumber as two more employees from police commissionerate were detected with swine flu. A pregnant woman from Kannad tehsil recently died of swine flu. Keeping the menace of H1N1 virus in mind, district collector Vikram Kumar held a meeting with district health department and civil surgeon in presence of ZP chief executive officer Sukhdeo Bankar here on Monday. Civil surgeon Dr Patil said, "A total of 10 swine flu suspected patients have come to the fore. One patient of two from police commissionerate has been admitted to the GMCH, while other is undergoing treatment in a private hospital. Four swab samples have been sent to National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune for medical test." While informing about the measures being taken by the department, Dr Patil said, "In all 25 screening centers have been started including 14 at primary health centers (PHCs) in rural parts while 11 in urban parts. All district and sub-district hospitals also conduct the screening of the patients. In Aurangabad, hospitals like MGM, Kamalnayan Bajaj Hospital, Manik Hospital, Seth Nandlal Dhoot Hospital, ESIC and GMCH will conduct test of swine flu patients."
