HAIDER most of the things i wanted to say about the film is covered by Bhowmik in this article.... here is the link: bhwmk.tumblr/post/99159719243/haider-my-take in addition to that, what metaphor i found was that.. Hamlet is one of the most tragic stories of Shakespeare. Here, the tragedy of Hamlet is his confusion.... to be or not to be... While choosing the subject, VB might have thought who could have fit the most in this character, if Indianized. And who more than Kashmiris are confused in the whole world. To be or not to be.. I interpreted that Ghazala (Tabu) is shown as Kashmir, who is ignored by India (shown as Dr. Hilaal). Dr. Hilaal is busy solving many other problems, while Ghazala longes for the love. India, post independence, has many issues to worry about, India this way have ignored a lot about Kashmirs issues. While younger brother of Hilaal - Khurram (shown as Pakistan) is in love with Ghazala (the Kashmir). He tricks (or doesnt trick), Ghazala to be his own taking away from Hilaal. Pakistan trying to snatch away Kashmir from India. While, Ghazala knows Hilaal is the best person, but still has feelings for Khurram. Haider (Shahid) is shown as Kashmiri Youth (son of Kashmir), who is confused till date, whom to believe.. the spirit of India (Roohdaar) or Pakistan (Khurram), and his confusion leads to his pain, his loss of his loved ones (Arshia), his anger, his ruthlessness, his mental instability, his love twards nature, his love towards poetry, his revolution.... Wah Wah...Salute to VB.. One scene where Shradhdha asks Irrfan... aap doctor hain?... Irfaan says... main doctor ki rooh hoon... - confirming that Roohdaar is the ghost of Hilaal... and that scene where the diggers are digging and inviting the death... solid... only VB or Anurag Kashyap could do that...
