HAIRcyclopedia Author (and all around great guy!) Taylor Carlson recently posted the following review, which we are so proud of, we are reposting. Thanks Taylor, you Rawk! "-MY REVIEW FOR THE SHOW LAST THURSDAY- There are many bands out there that specialize in cover songs, however it is often the same fare again and again – covering the same old classic rock/metal tunes we have heard a million times (seriously, how many times does one Vegas music fan have to sit through Highway to Hell and Crazy Train?) Fortunately, a band like the Bones proves to be a breath of fresh air, putting a new spin on things. The premise here is ridiculous, but it works surprisingly well – the band takes what they consider “the worst songs of all time” (typically overproduced 80s pop fare) and reinvents them in a raw punk/metal style. The group features drummer Scot Coogan (Ace Frehley Band, Lynch Mob) and guitarist/vocalist Patrick Vitagliano (probably best known to Vegas as the co-owner of KISS by Monster Mini Golf, but a talented musician in his own right), and you can tell at one of their shows these guys absolutely love what they do. I always love it when a band puts a new spin on old tunes, and this reinvention of bad 80s pop tunes in a punkish style is surprisingly entertaining. Hell, I found myself singing along to songs I normally don’t even normally care to listen to! Supposedly, the group has a CD release on the horizon, and I am looking forward to that – as should any fan of the band. If you’re tired of the same old bands doing the same old songs, go check out a Bones show. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll sing along to songs you used to hate. But perhaps most importantly, you’ll have a damn good time! -Taylor T. Carlson, author of HAIRcyclopedia Vol. 1 – The Legends"
