HAJJ 2014: LAGOS BEGINS LECTURES The Lagos state Muslim pilgrims welfare board will commence the weekend lectures/ enlightenment programme for intending pilgrims to the year 2014 holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. According to a statement which emanated from the office of the Executive Secretary of the Board Mr. Kamal Adewale Sanusi, the weekend lectures/enlightenment programme will be held in all the local governments in the state.. The weekend lectures is an avenue to educate the intending pilgrims on the Islamic rites and spiritual work which includes the general performance of the pilgrims while in Mecca and Medina. The weekend lectures is scheduled to start on Saturday 2nd August, 2014 and it will be held simultaneously in all the local government of the State for the four weekends in the month of August, 2014. The Executive Secretary also stated that the One Day seminar for the intending pilgrims is scheduled to take place on Sunday the 31st of August,2014. The One Day seminar is a forum where all the intending pilgrims come together and listen to lectures by Islamic scholars and other security agencies of the federal government like the Department of State Security,[DSS] National Agency for Food and Drug Control (NAFDAC), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) and other service providers for hajj operations. He further enjoined all the pilgrims to be steadfast and obey all the rules and regulations guiding the operation and wished them hajj mabrur.
