HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! One year ago today THE SARATOV APPROACH opened in a handful of theaters across Utah. The response from audiences was more than I could have ever hoped for. Through the opening weeks, audiences raved about the film on Facebook and Twitter, turning it into an instant phenomenon. But it didnt stop there. The momentum propelled the film to a successful nationwide release, playing on screens for nearly 6 months after the initial release. We culminated with a Times Square event, playing to a sold-out crowd. But it sure didnt stop there. The film then became a best-seller on DVD, Blu-ray and iTunes. It was one of the top-viewed movies when it premiered on Netflix. I’ve received so many genuine compliments from complete strangers about how the movie inspired them. But it definitely didnt stop there. The film was picked up for broadcast distribution in South America, South Africa, and in some European countries. I screened the film at festivals in Brussles and Paris, and even this week the film will screen at the Religion in Film Festival, in Rome, Italy. And the momentum still isnt stopping! Here are few things to look forward to, as a result of the support youve shown THE SARATOV APPROACH -Our distributor, Purdie Distribution is releasing MEET THE MORMONS on over 300 screens across the country, starting tomorrow! -Writer/Director Garrett Battys next film FREETOWN is set for release next April. Starting tomorrow, an exclusive teaser will debut in theaters, and on Hulu. -Travis Tuttle and Andrew Propst are jointly sharing their story at corporate functions, and special events. They are even working on a new book, sharing their experiences. Three Coin Productions is releasing a DVD fireside, THE STORY BEHIND SARATOV, in stores October 21st. -Producers Jake Van Wagoner and Maclain Nelson just wrapped production of GIRLS CAMP, a new comedy starring Lisa Clark. Look at what youve created!! To Travis and Andrew, thank you for allowing your story to be told. I wish you much success with your book. To Purdie Distribution, thank you for your fearlessness, and for partnering on the film when others wouldnt. Ill do my best to share MEET THE MORMONS with others. And to you, the incredible fans, thank you for your likes, your shares, your iTunes/Netflix/IMDB reviews, and your continual support for THE SARATOV APPROACH. I cant wait to bring you FREETOWN. Heres to another great year! Sincerely, -Garrett Batty Writer/Director THE SARATOV APPROACH
