HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE LATE EDDIE KENDRICKS, DEC. 17, 1939 (ONE OF THE LEAD SINGERS OF THE TEMPTATIONS) 12 / 17 / 1939 = The late Eddie Kendricks was born. He died = 10 / 5 / 1992. Eddie Kendricks grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. His family moved there when he was 1 year old. During his teen years, he developed a relationship with another Birmingham resident, Paul Williams , & the two organized a vocal group called The Primes. During the 60s The Primes evolved into The Temptations, one of the superstar groups of Rhythm & Blues. Eddie sang lead on many Temptations Hits, between 1960 - 1971. In May 1971, Eddie Kendricks launched his solo career. In 1973 he had a # 1 Hit with Keep On Truckin Video clip of Eddie with The Temptations singing Youre My Everything.
