I just heard the president speak on a bunch of issues...one of which was health care...of course. Of course none of it had to do with HIV/AIDS intervention, prevention, education, medical care, scientific research development. Too bad too. I did hear him say something to the order of nothing comes easy...anything worth doing is usually done with hard work. That got me to start thinking.... This bicycle thing is hard work! I am in awe of those that do this year after year after year. To think I am doing this my 4th time, trips me out! I get almost a panic attack really as riding a bike 545 miles is NO EASY TASK! A lot of folks will be doing this for the first time! I remember my first time with this ride...and it wasnt easy. It rained and was cold and miserable and lonely for me. I was tired and sore. I had to get sagged in the first day after 10 hours. I was devastated...like I let all the people that donated toward me getting there, down. Rain doesnt assist in ones already sagging mood. Next day..sunny! Roads were dry and I made it the rest of the time...still not easy but I made each day. I learned day after day, ride after ride....that it is never easy....but worth doing in the end. The end of course was joyous...too much for words to describe here. I am in for it this year...I am 20 years older. I am scared silly! BUT...this time, I have a team of beautiful people to cheer me on. The other times...I didnt join a team. I was smart this time...perhaps knowing more with age helps but I sure wish I had the body and good looks I used to back then in them rides of the past, to get me through this one this year. I guess, Ill just have to train harder, harder than I ever did back then! I keep hearing my link isnt working for me to help those that want to donate...please dont give up. Just look for AIDSLifeCycle.org then to donate page, then participant page and put my name in...Karen Donahue. I may be raffling of an item from Wine Barrel Furniture here soon...so stay tuned. I have yet to find out...but until I do...go check them out. They may donate an item worth your interest and youll be left behind if you dont buy a ticket for that item...their furniture items are absolutely beautiful...cant wait! Check out winebarrelfurniture
