HAPPY FEBRUARY! January 2014 is gone into history, and we are - TopicsExpress

HAPPY FEBRUARY! January 2014 is gone into history, and we are getting into the realities of the New Year we have been blessed with. The New Year Resolutions are now confronting us. The prayers, fasting, and different kinds of plans and strategies that several of us have sown, must now make progress to yield a good harvest. But, how did things go for you in January 2014? It will be of much help to you if you take a little time to make some honest assessments today or tomorrow, in the morning (if you have time), during the day or before you go to bed, in order to position yourself for better results this month and the months ahead. FACE ALL THE REALITIES. BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF. Do the appraisal alone first before consulting anyone for counseling or getting inputs from other sources. Husbands and wives or courting individuals should do personal evaluation first, and then come together as partners to do mutual evaluation. For your onward journey towards a successful and profitable goal, MAKE TIME TO READ LITERATURE; SEARCH GOOD AND TRUSTED WEBSITES,; ATTEND USEFUL SEMINARS; PARTICIPATE IN PRAYER MEETINGS; ENGAGE IN CLEAN AND PROFITABLE CONVERSATIONS; ENGAGE IN GOOD DISCUSSIONS AND BIBLE STUDIES; LISTEN TO EXPERTS AND PEOPLE WITH EXPERIENCE; HUMBLE YOURSELF TO LISTEN AND APPLY THE ADVICE OF YOUR SPOUSE OR ROMANTIC PARTNER OR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS; AND LEARN TO MAKE GOOD NOTES THAT YOU CAN ALWAYS REVISE OR REFER TO. AVOID ALL FORMS OF LAZINESS AND PROCRASTINATION OR THE RUSH TO GRAB AND FEEL THE EXPERIENCE! BE PATIENT --- ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY. If you belong to a family, group, company, organization, board, fellowship, church, business or ministerial partnership, or any kind of association, it will be beneficial and appropriate to do some evaluation with your partners, companions, family members, or friends. If the other persons (or your spouse, fiancée, or family member) are away, you can still evaluate and discuss by phone, e-mail, letter, text messaging, or even chat on facebook etc. Look for answers to unclear or perplexing issues, and pray to God about them for the Lord’s leading and answers, and His power to provide and drive you on towards your goals. As we roll into February and make progress towards our goals of the future, let us pay particular attention to our ROOTS. The truth is: NO ROOT DOWNWARDS, THEN NO FRUIT UPWARDS. Make every effort to keep your roots deep, sound, and intact --- your roots are your foundation, core values, basic beliefs, original vision, basic training, your original calling, or principles of the motivation and preservation of your mind, body, soul, and spirit that determine your lifestyle and your destiny. Your roots include your life of purity, holiness, and purpose; your exemplary life at home, work, school, on the street, in church, politics, at places of entertainment, on the field of sports, and in your relationships including dating and courtship or marriage and all family affairs. Let the roots of your faith and life in God (Christ) grow deeper and healthy, in order to produce healthy shoots with very green leaves and abundance of juicy fruits that everyone can see and enjoy to the glory of God. Watch your roots carefully for the rest of the year --- that is where you will draw nutrients, grow, and be revived from --- that is where your faith, trust, blessings, strength, guidance, hope, favor, success, victory, and joy will flow from. Isaiah 11:1 tells us: “A Rod (Shoot) will grow from the stem and root of Jesse” --- this was in reference to Christ Himself. Your roots absorb the water and nutrients (all that God provides for your growth, flowering, fruits and success), and your roots must grow by the streams of water (Psalm 1:3; Jeremiah 17:7, 8; Rom. 15:12). All of us face the common hardships of our times, and have to deal with some unavoidable trials of life. Therefore things can happen to your branches. But please, ensure that no matter what happens to you this month and the rest of the times ahead, your roots remain intact, strong, firm, alive, active, and unharmed. Then you can always bounce back successfully and happily after you meet an unexpected bump in the road. Have a great February of 2014. Remain focused and very hopeful for a brighter future. Remember, you get what you say. Words will always be creative. Intensity of attacks on you, and delays in answers to prayers, plus long waits for any expected results are never excuses for you to engage in any insults, curses, hopeless remarks, grumbling, questioning, doubts, and defeatist attitudes. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Prov. 18:21). Resist and desist from any curses and negative pronouncements that could block your blessings and hinder God’s grace from flowing into your life. Bless yourself, and bless others. May God richly bless and keep you for the rest of the year! KEEP HOPE ALIVE! THE BEST IS YET TO COME! By Dr. Samuel Kisseadoo. E-mail: kisseadoo@msn.
