HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!! And what better way to celebrate my favourite day of the year than with a double-whammy cover reveal!! Those stunning images by Cliff Nielsen are the UK and USA covers for ZOM-B BRIDE, the 10th book in the series, which goes on sale in February 2015. I love all of Cliffs covers, but I think hes raised the bar even higher than normal with this one! In fact my American publishers, LittleBrown, were so thrilled with the image that theyve broken with the regular series style in order to give the art more prominence on the cover! Both my UK and American publishers have used the same image, but the UK went for colour, while the USA went for black and white -- and what a double-bill they make!!! I hope you all love them as much as I do -- please feel free to share them around with everyone you know if you do!! A few more Halloween-related items. First, Im doing a Halloween event in my home town of Limerick, in the old Belltable Theatre, at 2.00pm today. There are still some tickets left, and I do mean only SOME, so act swiftly if youre thinking of coming! You might be able to buy tickets on the door, but Id suggest booking online in advance if possible, just to be safe: limetreetheatre.ticketsolve/shows/873520744 My Irish fans might be interested to note that the CIRQUE DU FREAK film is being shown on RTE2 at 7.00pm tonight. The movie has proved devisive -- some fans absolutely hate it because it isnt faithful to the books, and theyre usually quite vocal about their dislike, sometimes creating the impression that everyone hates it! BUT in fact Ive met and heard from lots of fans who liked the movie a lot -- indeed, some absolutely loved it. If you look on IMDB, youll see it has an overall score of 6/10, and I think this is a fair reflection -- its not a film that ticks everybodys box, but lots of viewers do enjoy it. I think the important thing is to take it for what it is. Sure, we all would have preferred a more faithful adaptation, but it capture the rough essence of the books, and is a lot better than many other films of popular books, so if you can treat it as a curious little addition to the series, rather than a straight-up version of the story told in the books, you might enjoy it more than you think... Finally, if any of you are going trick or treating tonight, anywhere in the world, and feel inclined to dress up as a character from one of my books, do take a photo to share with the rest of us -- Ill be posting about this tomorrow, and inviting you to reply to the post with your photo, so please wait until then, and assuming at least a few of you respond, Ill be issuing some prizes...
