HAPPY NEW YEAR! TBT: (note the pictures follow the story) We celebrated this past Christmas on the weekend of the 19th. At 4:00 PM on the 21st we left the area amongst snow flurries in route for that long awaited celebration . Hit heavy flurries in Worchester and Hartford with snow on the ground in New York, but the traffic was keeping the road bare and wet. Made good time through Pennsylvania and we were on the other side of Baltimore at midnight. Then at 3:00 AM it started to sprinkle at the end of Virginia, followed by heavy down pours all the way to Jacksonville (around 12:30 PM). Youll recognize Coras first photo through the down pour taken at 7:45 AM. You knew what her next photo was going to be, followed by a photo of our arrival time. Not bad, 23 hours, including the four 10 minute stops for gas & potty, and a 2 hour nap in the first North Carolina rest stop. Of course the window had to be decorated, but it is tough to compete with Disney decorations. Visited with the Turners, Mike, Sam, Davi & Emma on the 23 then as they headed to the airport, Cora went shopping for more pictures of Disney decorations. Mini golf to kick of the 45th Anniversary and to Riverside for the hot tub & lunch. Then the float boat trip to Downtown for the failed ring search, even after finding it at the Grand Floridian (just wasnt the right size). Look at the monogrammed tote bag that our Pal Mickey sent to our room for an Anniversary Present. A trip to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to use their hot tub and to see more decorations on Christmas evening after watching the Christmas Parade on TV. The 26th was spent at the Magic Kingdom in two shifts. Cora went shopping at the Swan on the night of the 27 and 28th was a day off total rest. The 29th was a long day at EPCOT, finishing up with the Candlelight Service. Mindy came to visit us on the 30th and we toured Fort Wilderness before having lunch. Patty came over for the supper that we never, as we sat and talked at length. Cora went shopping at Hollywood Studios on Wednesday morning. We went over to Hollywood Studios for an early New Years Eve Celebration and to see the dancing light show. Today starts off sad as we say good bye to Mickey and all of our Pals at Walt Disney World. Ah, the sadness soon is relieved with a visit with Russ and Judy at their new home.
